Heart of Hastings Community Land Trust is offering a guided woodland walk around the old power station site at Broomgrove. People will be on hand to inform you about the ecology of the area, as well as Heart of Hastings' plans for the site. Visitors of any age are welcome, but please note that no under 16s will be admitted alone, and there are difficult, and probably wet, areas of terrain to walk over, so please bring appropriate footwear. Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a short lead to follow site requirements.
Our eventual plans for the site will incorporate a fully accesible Greenway walking and cycling route, but for now the site poses various challenges to accesibility. This walk will be taking place in a densely wooded area with uneven terrain, narrow footpaths and various low level obstacles, as such unfortunately this walk will not be suitable for wheelchair users or people who are unable to walk unassisted.
Numbers are limited, so please make sure that if you respond to say you are coming, that you are definitely able to come, as someone else may be missing out otherwise. This event is free, but donations towards refreshments will be accepted. We look forward to welcoming you on the site.
